2026 LEWT Cast & Jig OPEN - 1st PlaceCold temperatures, bright sunshine, and a steady northeast wind set the stage for the Bays Edge Jigging Open on Saturday, April 11th. While the air had a bite to it, the conditions made for a great day on Lake Erie—despite a consistent NE chop that kept anglers on their toes.

A strong field of 43 teams launched in search of early-season walleye, and the results showed just how productive the western basin bite has become.

2026 LEWT Magee East - 1st PlaceThe 2026 LEWT season officially kicked off at Magee East Campground & Marina on March 21st, setting the stage for what looks to be another outstanding year on Lake Erie. Anglers were greeted with ideal early season conditions – light winds, overcast and foggy skies in the morning transitioning into sunshine throughout the day. After a long winter offseason, the energy at takeoff was high as teams were eager to get back on the water and begin their run toward Team of the Year.

]]> As the top of the field continues to go through the verification process, we are very excited to announce that the top three places are certified and valid! Congratulations to 2025 Walleye Fall Brawl Champion Jay Gullet who weighed in a 11.59#, 29.5″ walleye on November 20th. He wins a 2026 Ranger 622 FS from Vic’s Sports Center. Second place Michael Higinbotham held the lead for 11 days with his 11.46#, 31″ walleye caught November 11th. He wins a 2026 Ranger 621 FS from Vic’s Sports Center. Third place winner of $55,000 is Bradley Wissel who weighed a 11.42, 31.5″ walleye November 4th. We’ll keep you posted as results come in!

The PRO-AM event will now take place at Fairport Harbor on 6/14/25. New boat assignments will be made if the same LEWT pro’s at not registered.

The Lorain LEWT event will now take place on August 29th alongside the DB Marine Big Fish Friday tournament.

Usually a destination for later in the year, we landed in Geneva in July, something we’ve not done before. Additionally, the LEWT teamed up with the Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) and decided to join forces again and aim for yet another historic event after filling Lorain’s Black River Landing with over 100 teams in 2023.
